Charity #19 – 12/20/20 Br. Pirkkala lead this effort and collected toys, blankets, and hygiene items from Oakland Park to Miami for the Veterans and their families. Miami V.A. Program Manager, Chief of Staff is on the left.
Charity #18 – December – A West Broward Brother works with several different companies in his line of work. He was able to have one company donate $100k to the Shriners Hospital Foundation.
Then I told him my other favorite charity I have been donating for years is St.Judes Hospital. So, another company donated $100k to St.Judes under the Worshipful Master name and Lodge.
Charity #17 – December – Donation of $300 to the Military Heroes Support Foundation in sponsoring their mailing of care packages to our Military Troops.
Charity #16 – December – Donated 4 pre-lit Christmas trees, tree topper, and ornaments for the units in the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Brothers of West Broward are doing a toy drive also.
Charity #15 – Nov/Dec – Donation of $100 from Worshipful Master charity to the George Washington Masonic National Memorial Foundation.
Charity #14 – October – Lodge donated $100 to the Louisiana Disaster Relief Fund submitted to the Grand Lodge of Florida for proper distribution.
Charity #13 – October – We have two truck loads of paperback books for the VA Nursing Home on Douglas Road. Currently, they are not opened to take donations.
Charity #12 – October – Serving as volunteers at the Timbertech Golf Championships. Our hours turned into dollars for the Masonic Home. Still pending on how much was raised.
Charity #11 – August & Sept – Dropped off 22 large bags full of clothes, comforters, nonperishable food items and monetary donation for the Broward Outreach Center in Hollywood, FL.
Charity #10 – July 26th – Dockside Social School Supplies gathering. Admission was $20 to attend. We were able to raise $160 and Worshipful Master charity provided an addition $50 for the Broward Education Foundation.
Charity # 9 – July 11th – Feeding South Florida – West Broward Lodge vs Roe Fulkerson Lodge. We helped package boxes for 585 families. Also, the Worshipful Master charity purchased 6 tape gun dispensers.
Charity # 8 – Month of June – The start of a donation collection. Several boxes were set up at the lodge for: 1) clothing for Broward Outreach Center, 2) eyeglasses for Margate Lions Club Vision charity, 3) school supplies for local elementary school, 4) paperback books for VA Nursing Home, 5) non-perishable food items for The Salvation Army
Charity # 7 – June – Blood Drive sponsored with the Living Faith Church and Oneblood.org, came to the Lodge in their Blood Bus.
Charity # 6 – June – Worshipful Master purchased one brick for our previous Secretary, Ed Hedden. The Brothers then purchased an additional 25 bricks. In total, we purchased 26 bricks, equaling $1300 for the Masonic Home Fund.
Charity # 5 – June – Cookies for a Cause Fundraiser for The Salvation Army. Donation of $10 and one non-perishable item, get a dozen of fresh and delicious cookies. Raised $423 dollars and 5 large boxes full of non-perishable canned items.
Charity # 4 – May – Purchased 10 XL pizza pies for the Pembroke Pines Police department as a small thank you for all they have done during the pandemic
Charity # 3 – April & May – Several Brothers of West Broward Lodge went to assist Roe Fulkerson Lodge with setup and drop off for their food drives.
Charity # 2 – February – West Broward purchased 3 tables, equalling $1500 for Diamonds and Gold Ladies Night, benefiting the Masonic Home of Florida
Charity # 1 – February – Worshipful Master charity donated money to the American Diabetes Association, on behalf of our friend of the Lodge, Jim Gliman who is suffering with diabetes.
